Unpaid Bills from PM Modi’s Mysuru Visit Ignite Legal Threats

In a surprising turn of events, the Radisson Blu Plaza hotel in Mysuru has issued a legal warning over unsettled bills exceeding Rs 80 lakh. This debt stems from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stay during his visit in April 2023 for the Project Tiger event’s golden jubilee.

Eventful Visit with Unforeseen Costs

PM Modi’s visit was part of the celebrations organized by the National Tiger Conservation Authority and the Ministry of Environment. Despite a budget of Rs 3 crore backed by Central assistance, the event’s costs soared, leaving a significant deficit.

The Tug-of-War Over Dues

The State Forest Department, responsible for the event’s logistics, has been caught in a tug-of-war with the Ministry over the pending amount. Repeated reminders have been sent, yet Rs 3.3 crore remains unreleased.

Hotel’s Patience Wears Thin

After a year of patience, the hotel’s finance manager has drawn a line in the sand, demanding payment by June 1, 2024. The hotel has even added an 18% annual interest on the delayed payment, further inflating the dues.
